Who needs it?

Child physiotherapy is essential for children who are experiencing challenges in movement, development, or physical function. It can benefit a wide range of conditions and support kids at different stages of growth.

Pediatric Movement Support

Physiotherapy goals are built around your child's daily movement

Child physiotherapy supports children who need help with delayed milestones, posture, balance, coordination, strength, walking, running, climbing stairs, sitting tolerance, or recovery after an injury. Sessions are planned to feel engaging while still working toward measurable movement goals.

Assessment

We observe posture, range of movement, balance, strength, coordination, walking pattern, and functional mobility.

Therapy Plan

Activities may include balance games, strengthening, stretching, gait practice, core work, posture training, and motor planning.

Home Practice

Parents receive simple, safe activities that support progress between sessions without overwhelming the child.

Answers for parents and caregivers

Quick, clear information about sessions, goals, and how we support your child.

Child physiotherapy is a specialized area of physical therapy focused on helping infants, children, and adolescents improve their movement, strength, balance, coordination, posture, and overall physical development. Pediatric physiotherapists assess and treat conditions affecting gross motor skills, mobility, muscle tone, and functional movement so children can participate more confidently in play, school, sports, and daily activities.

Physiotherapy can start as early as a few weeks old, especially if your baby shows signs of delayed motor milestones, muscle tone differences, torticollis (tight neck muscles), plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome), or other early movement concerns. There is no upper age limit — therapy can benefit children through infancy, childhood, and their teenage years depending on their physical development needs.

Child physiotherapy treats a wide range of conditions including developmental motor delays, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, autism-related motor challenges, scoliosis and postural issues, sports injuries and rehabilitation, coordination difficulties, low muscle tone (hypotonia) or high muscle tone (hypertonia), balance and gait problems, and recovery after surgery or fractures.
